The mind itself is a potent instrument for change, the only one there is.
All change must take place in the mind first,
for all action is a result of thought and the resultant impulse or motivation.
In the state of separation, awareness becomes the basis of mind being used for perception and delusory thinking. Constantly distracted and filled with the activity of perception, thought and feeling, awareness becomes absorbed in and identified with the content that appears in it. Thus is its fundamental nature lost to experience.
As mind in separation, you seldom if ever experience the basis of your mind which is awareness; even then, it is only a fleeting, momentary experience quickly swallowed up by the maelstrom of thought activity.
